Dining out

In and around Winsley you’ll find there are endless options when you’re looking for local restaurants, pubs and takeaways.

The Seven Stars pub is in the village, a few minutes walk or 500m drive from the farm. The food is superb, and our guests give great feedback. It’s recommended that you book in advance as it can get very busy, especially over the weekends.

Bradford-On-Avon is home to many excellent pubs, restaurants and cafes. Some of our personal favourites are:

The Castle: Great and varied menu, good quality food, friendly environment, warm and cosy feel in the winter and a beer garden for the summer. A great family hang-out!

The Bunch of Grapes: A hidden gem, with a French twist, right in the heart of Bradford on Avon. You will be welcome in at any time whether it is for your morning coffee or a fancy lunch/dinner. Definitely worth a visit, we’ve heard nothing but great things.

The Thai Barn: This is not to be missed if you are a fan of Thai food. One of the finest restaurants in the West specialising in Thai cuisine. The service is always exceptional too. An all round great experience.

Pizzeria Amici Caffé Bar: Another place to tick off your list if you are in Bradford-on-Avon. Italian dishes served in the cosy cafe/bar. Some of the best pizzas we’ve had, and not forgetting the pastas, risottos and incredible desserts.

Bath is also full of options. It offers all types of cuisine, depending on what you fancy. The Southgate area around the train station has many family restaurants: Pizza Express, Gorilla, Gourmet Burger Kitchen and the Cosy Club.

For something a bit more special we love Hall and Woodhouse, The Porter, The White Hart. Check out their websites for more information.

Sometimes, after a busy day sightseeing, there is nothing better than to order a takeaway for dinner. We recommend:

Chinese: Beijing Paradise in Bradford On Avon, next door to Sainsbury’s, offering a fine selection of oriental dishes to be picked up or delivered at a competitive price. A Church Farm favourite is Mongolian Crispy Lamb. BA15 2AZ, Tel: 01225 865355

Indian: The Avon Spice Company, in Bradford on Avon. A popular Indian takeaway on the hill in Silver Street, Bradford on Avon. Serves a fantastic array of Indian cuisine and will happily deliver to Winsley. Tel: 01225 868337

Pizza: Pizzeria Amici, Bradford on Avon. A busy pizzeria with the stone‐baked oven effect. A wide variety of delicious pizzas, risottos & pasta dishes to eat in, pick up or take away. BA15 1JZ. Tel: 01225 863661

Thai: The Thai Barn, Bradford On Avon. One of the best thai restaurants in the area. Also serves take-away food. BA15 1DA. Tel: 01225 866443
