Bradford on Avon

There is so much to do here, often described as a ‘mini-Bath’.

Walking around and admiring the beautiful architecture, stopping off in quaint cafes to warm up, or pubs if you prefer – Bradford on Avon has it all!

Make sure you venture as far as Tithe Barn – again lovely architecture, but some gift shops too.

Kennet and Avon Canal

A fantastic day-out for walkers, cyclists, boaters. The Kennet and Avon canal goes towards Bath and Bradford-on-Avon.

Enjoy stops en route, whether it is to view the scenery or refuel in a cafe/pub.

Bath

We are extremely lucky to have Bath so close to us. Allow yourself a full day or even two to really acquaint yourself with the beautiful Heritage city. Here are a few suggestions of what to do/see:

  • Visit the Royal Crescent and The Circus

  • Visit Pulteney Bridge and Weir

  • Educate yourself in The Roman Baths

  • Explore Bath Abbey

  • Pamper yourself in The Thermae Spa

  • Visit the oldest building in Bath – Sally Lunns.

  • Immerse yourself in the shops around Southgate, Milsom Steet and Walcot Street.

Longleat

A fun-filled day out for all the family, particularly the young ones. Activities include the Uk Number 1 drive-thru Safari Park (watch out for the monkeys!), The Adventure Park, Shows and Events as well as the Longleat House and Grounds. Keep an eye out for their special events as well (Festival of Light, Balloon Fiesta etc). Well worth a visit! It is about a 30min drive from Church Farm.

These iconic rocks are well worth a visit. A lot of history is locked up in how these stones have been shaped, how they appeared there and when. Be sure to take your camera! Also look out for special events.

Tie in a visit to Stonehenge with a trip to Salisbury and it’s stunning cathedral. A great day out.

Westonbirt is a fantastic trip for all the family to discover and learn about 15,000 specimens of trees from all over the world. If you turn up not knowing a huge amount about trees then you will leave completely inspired. Great activities for kids too.
